Why I’m running for reelection

In my four years on council, I have been a champion of sustainability and climate change preparedness. Because of my leadership, Fitchburg has its first hybrid vehicle, new funding for solar panels, a USGS water monitoring station, more staffing in the Forestry Department, and a forthcoming Sustainability and Climate Resilience Plan.

Finding creative and responsible funding solutions to finance the initiatives I bring forward is a signature of mine. The first hybrid vehicle was funded in part through 2020 gasoline savings set aside in the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Fund. A Community Wellbeing Fund created through my 2021 budget amendment sets aside a percentage of fines paid to the city (tickets, court rulings) into an account that will be used to support our residents.

I serve on five committees — more than any other alder — where I advocated for protecting bus transit, helped draft a Tree Protection Ordinance, and built a reputation for detailed analysis of our monthly financial reports.

I love this city and I love this job. Serving my residents — my own neighbors — has been the greatest honor of my life. Today, Fitchburg is closer to my vision of a more sustainable, progressive, and equitable city. I’m running to continue building on that vision. I ask for your support and vote on April 2, 2024.
